Restylane is a filler substance, or an injectible substance that plumps the skin to smooth wrinkles and plump and smooth lips.  Restylane typically lasts longer than other filling substances, between 6 to 9 months. 

Restylane is generally used in the lines between the nose and the corners of the mouth.  It may also be used in the lips and in other deep lines of the face.

There is some discomfort with the injections that is usually lessened with topical anesthetics and ice.  There is minimal downtime.  Some redness and swelling may be seen for a day or two.  There is no need for allergy testing prior to treatment.

COSMODERM AND COSMOPLAST

Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast are two fillers used for wrinkles, lips and for depressed scars.  They help restore lost collagen in the skin.

The only commercially available human collagen fillers on the market, Cosmosderm and Cosmoplast last for 3 to 6 months.
