  • Restylane is a filler substance, or an injectable substance that plumps the skin to smooth wrinkles and plump and smooth lips.
     

Restylane Before and After

  • Restylane lasts longer than other filling substances, 6 to 9 months.
     
  • Restylane is generally used in the lines between the nose and the corners of the mouth. It may also be used in the lips and in other deep lines of the face.

  • There is some discomfort with the injections that is usually lessened with topical anesthetics and ice.
     
  • There is minimal downtown. Some redness and swelling may be seen for a day or two.

  • Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast are two other fillers used for wrinkles, lips, and for depressed scars. They help restore lost collagen in the skin.
     
  • Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast lasts for 3 to 6 months.
     
  • They are the only commercially available human collagen fillers on the market.
     
  • There is some discomfort with treatments. This is eased with topical anesthetics and ice.
  • There is minimal downtime. Usually only mild redness and swelling.
